So what am i getting at with this weird title ? Ok here is another one: “When you fall down always pick something up” explains it very well. Call me <censored> but i love failures . In fact i am fond of failures mainly because failures are the ones that are more valuable to me than just successes.
Let me tell you my story about a year ago. I was a fresher back then working in a startup. I was asked to design a complex algorithm involving string manipulation. Bad idea for a guy who barely does well in topcoder algorithm competitions. The code i wrote contained a “time-bomb” , yes literally. The code runs into an infinite loop on certain inputs. Booooom .. smoke… fire….. fire-fighting…..!!! aftermath….COEs….. So what went wrong??! If i hadn’t learnt from my mistake back then i would have repeated the same mistake again resulting in detrimental results. But something amazing came out of it. I became code conscious – meaning i never wrote a single line of code that just lies around and does nothing. I started forging my coding skills – and wrote awful lot of test cases.
The little story had a point. Often in life we come across failures that are hard to bear but consciously recognizing and appreciating the purpose of failures helps more than weeping in sorrow. Everything is green !!
